Amanda Brugel
Pointe Claire in Montreal's West Island is a tiny, little town that is a bit sleepy. This West Island, to those who are unfamiliar with it, is an extensive region that runs from Lachine to the west. Amanda Brugel grew up on this island, and it is frequently referred to as her birthplace. But she only stayed there for a short time. Brugel grew-up in Courtice close to Oshawa the city of Ontario. Her early ambition was to dance but a growth spurt meant that she literally outgrew her dance partner. The article she wrote about her experience revealed that was published in the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall and wears heels. As I grew older than my male partners I stopped. The Brugel is one of the former dancers that turned into acting. Her high school teacher school encouraged her to take the next step. It was her teacher who suggested she audition to play the character of Anne in the school's annual production. She auditioned and was cast in the role of Anne of Green Gables. The show was granted an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to take part in York University's Theater Program which she completed in 2000 with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts. In the last 20 years, her roles on TV and the big screen have varied. Her role as Rita from the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale was her most notable. Brugel is the only Canadian actor in Season 1 and was only seen on occasion.
